Charity Update December 2020

During this unprecedented period of the global pandemic, Covid -19, our charity’s work has been severely restricted. Our usual fundraising events of Depressed Cake Shops, cafes, dance events, quiz nights have all been cancelled or postponed.

Our Trustees have continued to meet online to discuss the impact on our charity’s financial situation and to offer help to our local community.

We are grateful for the £200 received from Catriona Walker and Shirley Henderson who made and sold face masks.

Thanks also to Joanne Anderson for her cycling efforts ! Through Just Giving Joanne has already raised over £740 . Well done !

Jen Yuille has also launched a birthday campaign on Just Giving to help raise money for the charity. We appreciate you Jen, thank you!

With limited resources available it is important  for us to continue making donations. Our lives may be on hold this year but mental health issues DO NOT take a break.

During December we have offered funding to:

  • Nomad Beat’s Mind The Music! Project and relaxation classes
  • Stride Dance Company, Eastgate Theatre to pay for psychotherapy sessions
  • Play Midlothian’s woodland self directed play sessions

Many thanks for your support. Hope to see you all in person next year!

Stay Safe,

Freda Douglas (Trustee)
